During its first year of activity, Dorothy Circus Gallery has gone through many journeys. By opening its doors to the world of Pop Surrealism, the Gallery has shone a light on the dark sides of adult tales; it has brought back to the surface new mythologies, it has destroyed and recreated the puzzle of rage, it has turned upside down and re-generated the nostalgic subconscious of people. This time, extreme love will be the protagonist of the current show. This time, DCG’s challenge will be to tell through artworks by Lostfish, Benjamin Lacombe, Kmye Chan, and Consuelo Mura today’s loves: precarious, difficult to understand, private, often invisible. Stories, dynamics, plays whose protagonists stand on the borderline between healthiness and madness; like unbound lovers who are still linked in some way. There are numerous faces of modern love that have crossed the limit of good manners, full with respectability and brainwashing, rebels, but also filled with an antique spirituality, fed by solitude and by a passion that becomes a drug for the mind and for the soul. The smiles of that love that finds its consciousness in the eroticism of misunderstandings, following the footsteps of joy like a promises of the impossible, which overlooks rules and goes beyond in the absurdity of a surreal intimacy, made of sex and possess, of the fusion and marriage of senses.
