“The major theme of all my paintings is my personal

emotional experiences and human condition, however

I have rarely touched on the subject of motherhood before.

I always felt it is too huge a subject. It touches on

the immense strength – both physical and mental – of

the fragile form of femininity. It touches on the incomprehensible

enigmatic wonder of life, and nothing can

compare to the feeling of another human being, growing

and coming into the world through you. Women are so

close to the mysteries of life, death and rebirth, to the

nature cycles, even in this abstract and alienated atmosphere

of the modern world. So this little painting

to me is my love poem and an icon to what is feminine,

to its beauty, pain, strength, its gifts and its sacrifices.”
