The upcoming solo show by the Paris-based artist Clementine de Chabaneix, titled The Silent Circus, will be composed of fifteen new artworks inspired by the circus theme, poised between the French surrealist Boris Vian‘s literature and the dreamlike visions of Carnival Love by Katherine Dunn. The artist, with her European taste, relives the concept of the Freak born in the USA.
Full of magic details and poetry, Clementine de Chabeneix refers to the chronicles of the life and the state of mind of those who are different from the others – speaking thus also about the figure of the artist. She does this by going through the metaphor of the circus, in which the union and solitude converge in one unique scenic representation, and the human soul reveals itself from under a black cloak of shimmering tears and explosive laughs.
