“My work talks about the unsubmissive, feminist and
rebellious motherhood.
Motherhood has been used by patriarchy as a form of subordination
of women. We must reappropriate motherhood
from a feminist perspective, live it as an option and not
as mandate, celebrate it as another dimension of the person
and not assume it as the sole destiny of women’s lives.
I want to dedicate this painting to Zapatista women and
their struggle for women’s rights and indigenous dignity.”
