“Motherhood to me means many things, the love for my mother
who carried me into this world and gave me life, the connectivity
of women around the world, growing life within and
bringing it into the world. But what I wanted to paint was Mother
Nature, the first and true mother of the Earth. ‘Gaia’ creates
all life on earth, she protects and nurtures us with her
body. She gives us a moment on this earth that begins and
ends but is filled with beauty and possibilities. So I would like
to honor the Mother of our Earth with this portrait of her."
