This summer the Dorothy Circus Gallery will be part of the Japan-UK Season of Culture 2019-2020, an occasion that will open a dialogue between these two countries, each of which will be represented by an artist.
On the one hand, we have the Japanese painter Hiraki Shimoda, who with her art represents children with a style that is reminiscent of the Manga culture, poised between innocence and horror. Young superheroes always grappling with issues related to current affairs.
On the other hand, we see Millo‘s street art, which with its murals has managed to establish itself internationally and to represent in a simple way the feelings such as love, hope, justice, loneliness, and fear.
The art of these two artists will be hosted at the Dorothy Circus Gallery’s two venues in London and Rome, on 14 and 15 June respectively. Both artists will present an entire collection of unpublished works that will analyze and tell stories, expectations, and fragility of a timeless generation, that of today’s young people, but also of their parents.
